Noise isolator for stainless steel coolant lines on 2wd T3s.
When 'volks' in the aftermarket came up with stainless steel replacements for the T3's original plastic coolant lines, they solved one problem, but inadvertently created another - noise!
Depending upon the routing, those replacement metal tubes transmit a surprising amount of engine vibration at the point where they pass through the vehicle subframe - not to mention the occasional clatter over rough terrain. This buffer serves to isolate the tubes from each other and also from the vehicle frame.
Before ordering, slide under your van and take a look at your coolant and heater line routing. If your metal coolant lines are resting directly on the frame rails, this buffer is for you. If your heater lines are underneath your coolant lines, this buffer will not fit.
Installation is really straightforward - no need to disassemble any part of your cooling system. It IS a tight fit though, so you may need to push some things around. We won't tell if you let slip a few expletives.
